Nurture Nature for Our Future

Nurture Nature for Our Future

Nature holds the key to our aesthetic, intellectual, cognitive and even spiritual satisfaction’ – E. O. Wilson

Along with JUNGLE GHOST’s passion in the nature preservation of Indonesia, and as the first program of Jungle Ghost – Kiowa, Bali’s first program, this event is intended to bring awareness to the public about the importance of balancing nature for the future sustainability.

As a non-governmental organization emphasizing on the nature activity, we want to expand JUNGLE GHOST movement not only at the mountains but also at local community and concerning sea as the biggest part of this earth.

Several activities has been successfully executed, including:

100 BABY TURTLE RELEASE. Sea Turtle populations has been significantly declined from many areas of the globe due to commercial fishing, traditional ceremonies usage, loss of nesting habitat and climate change are among the human-caused threats pushing sea turtles towards extinction. This major change affected the capability to fulfill the balance and vital functions of the oceans ecosystems. If you lose one, the rest will eventually follow to fall down. An essential step toward restoring healthy ocean ecosystems is required urgently. More proactive conservation measures are needed to protect sea turtles and rebuild their populations to healthy levels so they can fulfill the full extent of their historic roles in ocean ecosystems.

EXPLORE MOUNT AGUNG and TREE PLANTING. It is needless to speak the importance of trees for the world. We should not use and destroy trees at random, rather we should plant trees more and for a better and healthier life. The importance of forests cannot be belittled ever. They help in preserving soil from erosion, attract water-laden clouds for rain, provide valuable timber and are responsible for retention of subterranean water. During the hike towards Mount Agung Summit, all the participants brought 60 Intaran Trees to be planted along Mount Agung track, however due to extreme weather, the trees was given to the local village residents to planted at the forest area around Pasar Agung Temple.

EXPLORE MOUNT BATUR. The whole programme will be closed by hiking Mount Batur, an active volcano which according to Hindu Believe is one of the sacred mountain in Bali, stands at 1717 meters above sea level and it is located at Batur village in the Kintamani region.

By executing this event, we want to strengthen JUNGLE GHOST’s bond with nature as a whole link with the universe and between JUNGLE GHOST’s family members. Hope to have harmonious relation among the holy spirit, nature and the old wise tradition for a  peaceful living.
